PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Porcelain veneers offer our patients a valid option to improve the colour, shape and alignment of their anterior teeth. However, it is essential for a successful treatment to follow an appropri- ate case selection and to implement specific clinical protocols. Clinicians need to master how to properly treatment plan and execute tooth preparation, impression, temporization and cemen- tation to achieve expected outcomes.

The focus of this program is to provide general dentists with key factors in achieving predictable aesthetic outcomes with porcelain veneers. In this course, a comprehensive review of prosthodontic treatment planning as well as indications and contraindications for porcelain veneers will be provided. A systematic approach to tooth preparation, impression, temporization and cementation will be discussed.

To review the indications and contraindications for porcelain veneers.

To review appropriate treatment planning for porcelain veneers.

To review the clinical protocol for porcelain veneer fabrication including tooth preparation, impression, temporization and cementation.

Dr. Nariman Amiri, DMD, MHI, Cert. Prostho, FRCD(C)

Board Certified Prosthodontist

Dr. Nariman Amiri is a board certified specialist in Prosthodontics. Dr. Amiri is a graduate of the University of British Columbia in dentistry and  University of Iowa in Prosthodontics. Dr. Amiri is in full time private practice in Vancouver, BC and his practice is dedicated to Prosthodontics and Implant dentistry. He also teaches as a clinical professor for graduate and undergraduate clinics in the Department of Prosthodontics at UBC. Dr. Amiri is the organizer and principal mentor of a study club in Vancouver and lectures extensively in meetings and societies including UBC Continuing Education.
