About the Program
Sleep & Airway Management; Why, How & What?
In today’s society people are continually looking for new ways to improve their quality of life and sense of well-being. Sleep is an essential component of health. It plays a vital role in physical and mental health. Sleep awareness is rising, so as the prevalence of Sleep Disorders. Unfortunately, majority of patients with Sleep disorders remain undiagnosed. Dentists can have an instrumental role in helping patients achieve a better quality of life, by recognizing and addressing sleep and airway disorders.
This lecture will provide an overview of;
- “Why” dental clinics should have a comprehensive understanding of sleep & airway disorders, and educate their patients
- “How” to implement a sleep and airway management program in a dental clinic
- “What” is involved in helping patients with sleep disorders
It will review the importance of Sleep & Airway management in comprehensive inter-disciplinary treatment planning and how airway and sleep disorders, if left untreated, could adversely impact the long-term prognosis of dental treatments. It will also provide a practical step-by-step approach to implementing a simple & predictable “Sleep and Airway Management” program in a dental clinic; with easy to implement systems and clinical tools for a fully digital workflow, utilizing the latest technologies in the field of Dentistry and Sleep.
