Educational Objectives: After completing this course, dentists will be able to:

  • Identify sleep apnea symptoms and causes

  • Know how to recommend and administer a hospital sleep study with a medical doctor

  • Know and understand the different sleep cycles

  • Review sample reports to sleep specialists, MD’s, dentists, and ENT’s
  • Understand sleep apnea treatment flows: Screenings, records, sleep study (MD), consents and financial agreements/billing, appliance fabrication (with MD’s order), appliance adjustments and follow ups, recalls
  • Know how to bill insurance companies (medical)
  • Understand CPAPs (Continuous Positive Air Pressure)
  • Understand surgical solutions for sleep apnea

How to select Orthodontic cases for Clear Aligner Treatment 

Educational Objective: After completing this course, dentists will be able to

  • Know how to select patients for clear aligner treatment
  • Know the fundamentals of orthodontic diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment
  • Know the classifications of malocclusions (skeletal and dental)
  • Know how to start, continue, and finish clear aligner orthodontic treatment
  • Treatment flow: initial exam (sometimes in a hygiene visit), to standard of care records, second consultation, start of treatment, finish and retention.
  • Know how to avoid and correct issues and pitfalls - one example being posterior open bites.
  • Use consents and financial contracts/agreements
  • Know how to bill the patient and their insurance
  • Know how to market their orthodontic practice
  • Review example cases, references, and articles
  • Overview and Q&A

Bio

Dr. Attila Nagy DDS MS received his BS, and DDS degrees from The Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio. He later completed his Master of Science degree in Specialized Orthodontics in Munster, Germany. Dr. Nagy, and his wife Dr. Michelle Nagy practice dentistry in Ohio as general dentists.
