Dr. Evan Ayers | The If, When and How of Early Orthodontic Treatment

In this presentation, Dr. Ayers will review orthodontic diagnosis of young patients in the early and mid mixed dentitions. He will share his indications for early treatment vs. observation for various types of malocclusions that are routinely encountered in general practice. When early treatment is indicated, Dr. Ayers will share how he approaches treating these malocclusions with an emphasis on addressing the primary objectives.

Biography

A 2010 graduate of the University of Manitoba, Dr. Evan Ayers practiced as a general dentist in Vancouver prior to pursuing his graduate orthodontics degree at UBC. Highlighting his commitment to achieve the highest quality in orthodontic outcomes, Dr. Ayers achieved voluntary Diplomate certification by the American Board of Orthodontics in February 2018, accepting a part time faculty position at UBC’s graduate orthodontic clinic shortly thereafter. Opening his own start up office, West Shore Orthodontics, in January 2019, Dr. Ayers has enjoyed getting to know our beautiful island as well as the dentists in the region. At his office, Dr. Ayers treats patients from the very young, to the not as young, and looks forward to presenting his philosophy regarding early orthodontic treatment to his fellow members of the VDDS.

Dr. Andrew Tomash | Pediatric Dentistry For The General Dentist

Dr. Tomash will be reviewing tips and tricks as well as how to take an evidence-based approach when treating children.
