About the Event

This webinar will be recorded and available to view up to one week after the live webinar. Please email if you'd like to receive the recording link.

Presentation Summary:

The presentation will focus on pre-operative assessment of a surgical patient aimed at identifying risk factors that may result in potential complications. Some of the topics that will be included are: considerations regarding medically compromised patients, medications such as blood thinners and bisphosphonates (and other related medications), and a history of radiation exposure. Real patient cases will be used to illustrate the examples. The objective of the presentation is to increase awareness of risk factors associated with surgical patients and to provide guidelines to decrease the occurrence of complications. The goal is that every attendee would walk away from the discussion with a number of clinical pearls that can be applied to daily practice. The discussion would be interactive and dynamic; questions would be encouraged throughout.

Course objectives:

· To increase awareness of surgical patient risk factors

· To provide guidelines on management of surgical patients

· To provide the tools to decrease surgical complications
